Creating a User for Web Services

In this article, you will learn how to configure an access key that will be used to make calls to Dialog Insight's web services. 


Prerequisites

  • You must have access to the Web Services module.
  • You must have the authorization to configure access keys.

How To

To start, click on Web Services in the menu below Users:
In the Web services keys list, click on Create a key:
Fill in the Name and Email of the contact person:This information is to contact you in case of a problem.
Fill in the required information:
  • Specify the Authorized IP addresses for the web services.
  • Select a date for Expiry (if you want to limit the period of time of use for that key). 
  • Check Active if you want to activate the key now. 
  • Click on Save.
Restricting access with IP addresses increases security by adding an extra layer of verification to the key.
In the section Permissions, assign permissions for the key by clicking on Add:

Results

You are now ready to make API calls. The section Access key properties displays the idKey and the Key. Note this information, which will be required for the Authkey parameter when making API requests.
